Acqua Summer 2011

Welcome to my blog! This blog was written by an exchange student who had been to Mexico for a short summer program. During my sojourn in Mexico, I had been studying in Tech De Mont, a prestigious, rich and well-recognized international university in Mexico. The courses that I took include basic Spanish and Introduction to the Mexican's Culture. I was a Singaporean undergraduate in National University of Singapore, NUS.

This blog is divided into different topics according to various themes and period: Arrival to Mex, Memoir's of my host family (8 parts).

Memoirs of my host family - part 8

This post reveals the photos that I developed for my host family. Having received their help in some ways and their warmth in everything, I have decided to reciprocate my gratitude with fond memories in the form of something tangible and clearly memorable. Please note that these photos were presented in random order... when there was supposed to have some links between some!

Our Introduction to Mexican Culture class outing!
I simply love the way everyone in the background posed!

My gang whom I enjoyed my companionship with during my study in Tec de Mont.
We were in the downtown of Querétaro, having the best time of our life shopping for souvenirs and taking many random photos.

I am delighted to see how happy my friends looked in the photo with my host dad!

I love the feeling of seeing this photo.
The fond memories of Guanajuato and immediately everything simply floated back in my mind.
The background is actually a castle where the Queen resided in those early days...
And I was happy to hear compliments of people saying how beautiful Singaporeans looked like and she even pointed out how handsome Yee Shen was and how pretty I was :S

She is simply gorgeous!

My host son's family together with me inside.

I was quite surprised to see my hot dad in downtown with a friend of his.
I have always wanted to have a family outing but never had the chance during my stay as he was unfortunately sick a few weeks later after I moved in. :(

More relatives of my host family came to visit us!

Mike, where are you now, I wonder?
I hope everything is well and happy for you!

My host parents.
The best photo I ever took of them!

Memoirs of my host family - part 7

This post is only for Cloy, who had been a faithful, cheerful and obedient companion during my 6-week sojourn in Querétaro. As such, I will simply post some of the most adorable photos of him or her? Actually, I know very little about this little affectionate dog, but I can't help but pity him in many ways. Unlike other richer owners who could afford more, Cloy receives very little attention from his host mother. And it is under this supposition that I always see him hungry. Like a beggar in the crowded streets, he always comes to me whenever I am having meals. Sometimes I would spare some delicious pieces of potato and dropped them into his mouth or simply put them on the floor. It was only by sharing about how much I fed the dog with my friends that I come to realize my grave mistake. Food for human consumption is not meant for dog. Doing so will deteriorate their hair condition  as they contain high amount of salt which render the dropping of the dog's hair, a situation which I realized when I saw huge amount of Cloy's hair on my pants!

Memoirs of my host family - part 6

I felt very fortunate for given the chance to visit my host family's relatives' house as she only bought me there on the last few weeks of my stay, which I had never expected her to do so. Nevertheless, I was only so glad to take a few quick snap of these beautiful big houses, when I was about to doze off at around 11pm or so when out of the sudden wanted to visit her mother together with her son-in-law.
